The sink is an antique made in 1920. I still need to re-finish it. The gooseneck faucet I also bought from www.deabath.com .

  1. How do you plan to refinish the sink? All very tasteful. Will you come be our neighbor?!

  2. Thank you for the complements. I plan on using a spray that I bought for sinks and tubs. Basically you have to clean the sink with steel wool and spray it on. I have seen it done before and it has favorable results. The sink does not have any chips deep enough showing the cast iron so I think I will be ok. I'm glad you like the blog. It has been a pain though on learning how it all works. I will figure it out in due time.

  3. You've done an amazing job on your bathroom! Want!

I also wanted to give you a big thanks for posting the link for BEA Mechanicals. I finally found brass bathroom hardware and I'm so glad! Apparently Rejuvenation and House of Antique Hardware have decided that ALL bath hardware must be chrome or nickel. I'll post pics once they're hung.

  4. Thanks Sharon. I have since added a hand shower to the tub that I ordered from Bathroom Macheneries which set me back $450.00 but well worth it. I need to post some pics of the hand shower. It is awsome and adds an extra touch of flavor to the bathroom.

  5. I too love Bungalows. I am currently trying to buy a little one down in Florida. It has been left pretty much in the condition it was in when built. Meaning it hasn't been "modernized". I love the high ceilings and the floor trim is almost 12" tall! I will think about removing 90 years of paint but as it is it gives the house a nice crisp line. I want to keep the house in the 1925 style it was built in but need to find that shower curtain rod like you have that goes all the way around the tub. This house has the original tub but it is a pedestal not a claw foot. Where did you locate the rod and how pricey was it? The kitchen has the original cabinets but there aren't very many of them so I am thinking of using them to be a pattern to make more. The kitchen is tiny but I love the original cabinets and the original sink is in place. It has seem some wear so I would like you opinion on how to accomplish bringing it back to it original look. It's a big sink with the drain boards on both sides and the faucet and handles come out of the tall back on the sink. It's a gem! Any help would be much appreciated.

    1. Thank you for writing me. The bathroom curtain ring was purchased at Bathroom Machineries in Murphys California made by Sunrise Specialties. I am so glad to see you want to keep your house in the 1920's period. We have really worked hard to bring our house to its former glory and are not done yet. It is a labor of love and takes ten times longer to do it this way rather than ripping out and putting all new stuff in.
